Corporate Story

Bill Parker started his IT service company in mid 1992 as a one man operation out of his home in Crosby, TX.  His original vision was to build and lead his own organization with character, competency and strong ethics as business cornerstones; a company that would focus on servicing the client and build long term relationships with clients, vendors and employees.  Bill operated for the first 2 years out of his home and then rented a small office in Crosby, TX after hiring his first two employees.  During this time, Bill had the good fortune to work with a small telephone interconnect company, owned by Stewart Terry, at several mutual clients.  Stewart’s company provided voice & data cabling, telephone systems, service and support.  A friendship quickly developed and a year later, Bill and Stewart decided to become partners and create a unique voice & data technology service company focused on providing both IT and communication solutions and services to small and medium sized businesses.

They believed that the future was the eventual joining of IT and Telephony technologies, now commonly referred to as “Convergence Technology”, and they imagined its potential impact on the small to mid-size business’s ability to compete and succeed in virtually any market.  Stewart and Bill also believed that the key to a successful business was to forge long term partnerships with small to mid-sized firms.

Able Technologies, Inc., d.b.a. Abletek was born as a Texas Corporation in December of 1995.  Bill and Stewart’s vision was for Abletek to be a service organization offering a full range of solutions related to IT and Telephony infrastructures and systems.  Stewart left the business in 2001 to begin enjoying retirement with his wife, Charlotte, their children and grandchildren.  He is very much involved with his children, grandchildren, church family and in his community.  Stewart was a significant contributor to the foundation of Abletek and definitely left his mark.

Over the past 15 plus years, Abletek has built a solid history of providing an uncompromising level of service, quality products, expert guidance and sound solutions to our clients.  We are a conservative firm with regard to our approach to new technologies.  We strive to be on the “leading edge” but tend to steer clear of “cutting edge” technology.  When you use “cutting edge technology”, you tend to get cut and bleed!  We prefer that our clients not be the guinea pig for software developer’s updates.  This approach to our business and clients has resulted in solid partnerships spanning well over 12 years.

Today, Abletek employs a staff of 13 employees, all dedicated to providing our customers with the highest caliber of service, support, and quality solutions from industry leaders such as Microsoft, Symantec, Dell, HP, Netgear, VPN, Level Platforms, Cisco, Citrix, F-Secure, Mozy, ESI and Zultys.

Abletek’s growth has been through the successful partnerships we have built with our clients, continued development, training and education of our staff, a sound business model, utilization of mature technology support tools and through continued involvement in our community.   Our primary goals are to be profitable and provide “best of class” solutions to our clients.  We accomplish this by focusing our entire business model on meeting and/or exceeding our client’s expectations in every way possible.
